Get ready, cause this is a long one :)

I was referred to Emily by one of the MOST FABULOUS Fashion Stylist’s in LA, Laurie Graham. I am very fortunate to call Laurie a client and throughout the years has become a VERY dear friend. I apply Laurie’s Make-up for TV, Special Events, Personal Appearances, Fashion Shows, Professional Head-shots and more… She is on my website. Over the years, in addition to being Laurie’s Personal Make-up Artist, we have and continue to refer and share Clients. It’s smart really because whether someone is ready for a change, wanting to update their look because they feel dated or stuck in a rut and/or they’re going to a fabulous red carpet or special event, together Laurie and I take care of the Client form Head-to-toe. Client’s like to call us their “A Team”… We like to call ourselves the “We can’t wait to help boost your self inner/outer confidence and help you look and feel your most fabulous team”.

Ok… back to the very sweet, wonderful Emily! When Emily contacted me, she was concerned because she doesn’t wear Make-up and I could tell that she was very nervous. We spoke for a while, talked about her fears of  looking too made up and not looking like herself.  I know that is a concern of many MANY  Brides. I promised Emily that doing a Bridal Make-up Trial with me would ease her concerns and that the sooner we did the Trial the sooner her anxiety would go away and turn into excitement!! Emily agreed and explained to me that she understood that especially for a wedding, when you’re spending the money for an amazing dress, professional Photographer, a beautiful venue, lovely flowers and all of the other important details… It is MOST important that your Make-up is PROFESSIONALLY applied so that it looks just as beautiful in person, as it does in the photos, and in addition it lasts throughout the event.

When we did Emily’s Bridal Make-up Trial, she was blown away that her Make-up looked so natural, modern and put together. She looked and felt beautiful :) On her eyes I used Laura Mercier shadows in taupes, sables and then highlighted the brow and cheek bones with a creamy ivory shimmer. In addition I applied a tight line of Bobbi Brown’s Sepia Gel Ink Eyeliner above her lash line… I use this on myself all of the time!! For Emily’s lovely face, I used one of my favorite products ever (it  photographs so beautifully) Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick, and then used neutral tawny blush on her cheeks with a “pop” of sheer pink both by Bobbi Brown. I finished Emily’s look with a pinky brown glossy lip using Shu Uemura 938 Rouge Unlimited Lip Color, Nars Chihuahua Gloss and Lise Watier Nude Lip Pencil. One of the biggest changes Emily noticed was how big and beautiful her eyes looked by my adding a couple individual false eyelashes to each eye… As for the day of the wedding, I had the pleasure of doing Make-up for her LOVELY mother and some of her Bridal Party. It was very rewarding and special for me to be a part of Emily’s wedding. Recently, after Emily’s BIG day, I worked with Emily and her mother again doing a Make-up Organization and Make-up Lessons for both of them, SO FUN!!!

Of course I have to mention some of the wonderful Vendors that helped make this a special day to remember for Emily and thank you to Bella Pictures for sharing your images!!
