In my eyes, Beauty Make-up should ALWAYS be about enhancing. Every time I meet with a new client, I am always taken back by their uniquely beautiful features which I always try to enhance vs. cover-up or change. When I met Nital for her Bridal Make-up Trial I was blown away by her perfect, glowing skin and a smile that can light up a room. It was especially fun working with her because she was comfortable wearing a little more color.  Take note ladies… it’s possible to use color while still maintaining a natural look! With her golden skin-tone, Nital can just about wear any color, lucky girl! For her BIG day I chose deep warm chocolates on her eyes, a neutral plummy tone “popped” on her cheeks and a warm raisin glossy tone on her lips. Nital’s style is very modern, elegant and tasteful.  She had the perfect combination of an Indian and Western wedding. One of the greatest Networking Organizations I ever joined was Ladies Who Launch, I was a member for 4 years.  Ladies Who Launch helped motivate me to take chances and start my own business. I am also extremely grateful for the personal and professional relationships I have formed with all of the savvy women business owners I’ve met through through the Organization.  One of those terrific women business owners I met was Julie Jones, owner of Encore Bridal, an upscale e-Boutique that offers a fabulous selection of new, sample and nearly-new couture dresses from today’s most sought after designers. They are located in Manhattan Beach, California. Julie, like myself, goes to ABC (Association of Bridal Consultants) meetings and it was at one of their fabulous events that she had asked me to be one of her Featured Guests at her Bridal Salon’s “Style Sundays”. HOW FUN!!!… Of course I said yes

As the brides-to-be came into the salon that Sunday, I had the pleasure of doing mini make-up consultations/applications on all of the lovely ladies. ”Style Sundays” are held the 2nd and last Sundays of every month from 11am-4pm.   Below are some images taken from that fun day…

Kelley is SO photogenic!! She has such an elegance and regal look to her and those eyes… WOW!  With or without make-up, Kelley’s eyes sparkle. She like myself, loves sexy, smoky, dramatic eyes balanced out with perfect glowing skin and a neutral glossy lip. A lot of women are intimidated by “dramatic” eyes, however that is definitely a look that everyone can wear, the look just has to altered for every women because of their eye shape, eye color and skin tone. Also, be careful not to use a heavy hand when applying and use the correct brushes (Shu Uemura are my favorite) to apply the shadow, not your fingers because you will need to blend so you don’t have a strong line of where the shadow stops. With blue eyes like Kelley’s, the best colors to use that come in a variety of shades are: plums, greys, black, deep navy, stone, silver, purples… basically cool tones. I loved doing Make-up for Kelley and her Bridal Party. Everyone was so down to earth, warm and fun!! You can definitely tell that from the great images below, thanks to the absolutely amazing team of Beautiful Day Photography.

I am a big fan of ISES (International Society of Event Specialists) and ABC (Associations of Bridal Consultants)Events.  I attend their Special Events about  once a month and have Showcased my company, doing the Make-up for Bridal Fashion Shows for the Vendors involved as well.  I have met SO many genuine, wonderful, talented Vendors at these events, many of whom I work with on Weddings and Special Events often.  I had the pleasure of meeting Summer, who is with the fine dining catering company Patina Group, about 1 1/2 years ago.  We connected right away and have continued to stay in touch as well as see each other at different events over the years. When we  ran into one another at a wine tasting event in the Summer of 2009 at the Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica and I met her, at the time wonderful boyfriend, now fiance. Summer said that she thought that she’d to be engaged soon and knew that when that day comes, she would love for me to do her Make-up for her wedding.  Well,  that day finally came! She is getting married in Sonoma, in Northern California at a winery in July 2010 and  I can’t wait!!  Below you will see some of the adorable and loving images from their Engagement Shoot, courtesy of the dynamite Laura Grier of Beautiful Day Photography.  The shoot was done at one of my favorites, The STUNNING London Hotel in West Hollywood, California as well as different areas on the beach in Venice and Santa Monica, California.

I’ve been anticipating Sarah and John’s wedding from the moment we did their engagement shoot!  They are such a fun couple and they have a very sophisticated sense of style. How exciting that they had the very FIRST wedding at the luxurious Terranea Resort . Every detail was accounted for and SO lovely.  I had a great time doing the Make-up for Sarah’s beautiful Bridal party.  They were a treat to work with! When you go to a party that is thrown by the genius, creative and talented Marley Majcher of “The Party Goddess!” don’t wear 5 1/2 inch heels (I measured them, thanks Givenchy) because you will not stop dancing and having fun all night long!! I had to share a picture of these AMAZING shoes, that have now become my “going to dinner, sit and your feet will look fabulous shoes”. We ALL have those kind of shoes and we ALL LOVE them!!

The Party Goddess! is a full service event planning and catering company that Marley started 18 years ago.  Marley is known for the numerous A-list Celebrity Parties that she coordinates, the TV and radio shows that she guest appears on such as: HGTV, The Wedding Channel, CBS Morning News LA and Martha Stewart on Sirius Radio.  In addition she and her company have many Awards and are featured in numerous Magazines, E-Zines and Books.

I have done Make-up for Marley quite a few times: from natural and sophisticated for her Professional Head-shots for her Website and Marketing opportunities, more “glam” for her Special Events, TV ready for High-def “E!” Television and most recently I had the privilege to do her Hair and Make-up for her very special day, HER BIRTHDAY!! Now for some people birthday’s are celebrated with an intimate dinner with a spouse, partner, family or a couple of friends. Other’s may go for drinks at the hottest bar, club or hotel, none are the above for Marley.  Marley is cut from the same cloth that I am cut from- If you’re gonna do it, do it BIG and BIG is how she does it every year for her birthday.  This year she had a mere 350 guests and her theme was “Four Seasons”.  Marley created her own personalized “Four Seasons” by taking over a warehouse and creating 4 different rooms, each with a themed season. From the decor to the music, the dressed characters as well as the food and drink served… Every room was quite an experience!!

Happy birthday Marley!!  You are inspiring and brilliant as well as absolutely beautiful inside and out. Thank you for everything!! You looked stunning as always for your birthday, even after dancing non-stop for over 7 hours!! I LOVE doing your Make-up

Can we say STUNNING?  What an amazing day this was!!  From the moment that I met Heather to do her Bridal Make-up Trial, about 7 months before her wedding, and she shared all of her details and vendors for her BIG day with me, I knew this would be a wedding I would ALWAYS remember!! I had such a fun time doing the Make-up for Heather’s bridesmaids and her lovely mom as well. Heather has a very good eye for style and I would describe her as a fashion forward, romantic, savvy bride. With that said, my goal was to make sure that her Make-up reflected that.  Lashes were a BIG focus as you will see below.

You could tell that every detail was meticulously planned and here are the VID (Very Important Details), that made sure that everything went perfectly!!

It was so much fun doing Whitney’s Make-up for her engagement shoot with her fiance Kevin… what a cool couple!! Their wedding is next May at the Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna Beach. Whitney is SO beautiful, with lashes for days, and has the biggest blue eyes you have ever seen!! Ideally for an engagement shoot, we don’t go too dramatic with the Make-up, especially when doing the shoot outside near the beach (in this case Venice Beach, California). So when choosing the look for Whitney, like do with all clients, I chose colors to enhance her features vs. take them over.  However, she just like me loves more umph on the eyes vs. the lips, as you see in the photos below. I have to thank the brilliantly, talented Photographer who brought me on to the shoot, the one and only Laura Grier of Beautiful Day Photography!!!!
